How to Change Your LSAT From Online to In-Person

To change a remote LSAT® registration to in-person, use Prometric ProScheduler to pick an in-person center and time. Here is the step-by-step, plus what changes for August 2026 and later.

The short answer
  • Reschedule in Prometric ProScheduler and choose an in-person center, date, and time.
  • Through June 2026 you can switch in either direction yourself.
  • From August 2026, in person is the default, and the only option unless you qualify for an exception.

To change a remote LSAT® registration to in person, reschedule it in Prometric ProScheduler, pick an in-person test center, date, and time. Through the June 2026 administration you can switch in either direction yourself. From August 2026 onward, in person is the default, and the only option unless you qualify for a distance or medical exception. (New to the whole change? Start with the 2026 LSAT in-person testing changes.)

How to switch your LSAT to in-person, step by step

  1. Go to Prometric ProScheduler (proscheduler.prometric.com) and choose the Schedule option.
  2. Select Law School Admission Council as the Test Sponsor and Law School Admission Test as the Program.
  3. Enter your physical address and preferred test date to see in-person Prometric centers near you.
  4. Pick a center, date, and time, and confirm. (To switch the other way before August 2026, choose the remote option instead of entering a center.)

If you have approved testing accommodations, schedule through Prometric’s accommodations line rather than the standard flow. Prometric’s general LSAT® scheduling line is 1.800.350.5517; the accommodations line is 1.800.967.1139 (option 4). Slots are first come, first served within your scheduling window, so the earlier you act, the more centers and times you will see.

What about August 2026 and later?

From the August 2026 administration on, there is no general online option to switch to, almost everyone is in person at a Prometric center by default. The only way to test remotely is to qualify for an exception: living more than 180 miles or three hours from a center, or having an approved medical accommodation. So for an August-or-later test, “switching to in person” mostly means choosing your center and time in ProScheduler, not changing modality.

Is there a fee or deadline to switch?

LSAC and Prometric set change deadlines, and any applicable fees, for each administration, and they can differ by test date. Rescheduling is usually possible up to a cutoff before test day, after which changes may not be allowed. Rather than rely on a number that may be out of date, check the current LSAT dates and deadlines for your administration before you make the change.

What if there are no in-person seats near me?

Center capacity on popular dates fills up, so register or reschedule as early as you can. If the nearest Prometric center with availability is genuinely far away, you may qualify for the distance exception, see who can still take the LSAT remotely in 2026. Otherwise, widening your date range or considering a nearby metro often opens up seats.

FAQs

How do I change my LSAT from online to in-person?

Reschedule in Prometric ProScheduler: choose Schedule, select Law School Admission Council and Law School Admission Test, enter your address and date, then pick an in-person center and time. Through June 2026 you can switch either way yourself.

Can I switch my test center or test date after registering?

Yes, in ProScheduler, up to the change deadline for your administration and subject to seat availability. The earlier you reschedule, the more centers and times you will see.

What is Prometric ProScheduler?

It is the Prometric scheduling tool you use to book or reschedule your LSAT® testing appointment, including choosing an in-person test center and time (or, where eligible, a remote slot).

Is there a fee to reschedule the LSAT?

Fees and deadlines are set per administration and can change, so check the current LSAT dates and deadlines on LSAC’s site rather than relying on a fixed figure. Rescheduling is generally allowed up to a cutoff before test day.

What is the deadline to switch from remote to in-person?

There is a change deadline before each test date; after it, modality and scheduling changes may not be allowed. Confirm the exact deadline for your administration on LSAC’s LSAT dates page before you switch.
